Bikes, Booze, and a Fat Cat

Oh, where does the time go?  Am I going to say that phrase like every single day for the rest of my life?  Time did not move this quickly when I was a kid.  Is that a gray hair?! Just kidding.

Memorial Day Weekend just flew by and, oh my, it was a blast.  My parents host an annual BBQ with our big rowdy group of friends, and although it rained, the good times rolled on.  Nothing that a little sangria and Cafe Patron can't help! (Drank separately of course.)  The bf and I also took my parents on a bike ride, which was a really fun family activity and Mom even impressed me with her speed!  Below are a few pictures of the past two weeks that I just happen to like, the first two from our bike ride...

I need to find a store that sells these.  Alcoholic cranberry juice. YUM
 My cat is scary.
I love Ducali in the North End. I asked for white sangria (not on the menu) and the bartender made up a recipe for me. Perfect summer beverage!

Wow, this post makes me look like a certified alcoholic.

Weekly Wrap Up

This past week was hectic.  I've had something to do after work each night, and by the time I crashed on the couch with my man, I was falling asleep before I heard about his (also) hectic days.  Thank goodness for the 1 hour ride to Maine tonight, I find car trips make for the best conversations.  We have a family packed weekend planned and I couldn't be more excited.  Despite the chilly weather, you will definitely see a post next week of me at the beach (even if it's in jeans).  I hope you have lovely weekend plans as well!

But first, here's what I was up to this week...

Brandy Melville opened on Newbury Street! I picked up this "new york city girl" floral tank and a chambray on Tuesday.

I have to be honest, I picked up this smoothie at work just because it was neon purple. Blueberries, apple juice, tofu, vanilla Silk milk.  (Looked cuter than it tasted.)

Finally had the courage to walk on Boylston Street and visit the Marathon memorial set up in Copley Square. I was almost paralyzed with sadness; it was surreal praying for the victims at the sight of the events.

On Wednesday, I attended a fundraiser for the Blondes vs Brunettes football game to 'Tackle Alzheimer's'.  I'm always thrilled to donate to the Alz Assoc, especially when it involves a night of singing and drinking at Howl At The Moon!

Happy Weekend! xo

Weekly Wrap Up!

Hard to believe this was the last full week of April!  The sun has been out, the chaos (in Boston) has lifted, and I am so ready for beach days in May.  But first, here's what I was up to this week...

I love this design, check out products to benefit victims at OneHeartBoston.org!
Work gave out herbs for Earth Day! I have two mints and a cilantro. Can't wait to make cocktails with these babies...
In lieu of business cards, I made stickers with my info for the Blog Better Boston Style Summit!

Weekly Wrap Up

This week felt very transition-y.  Every day I was looking forward to the next.  Spring showed up and then disappeared, sending me back to my wool coat.  It's that awkward time when people start dressing for summer, but it's only 50 degrees and I want to yell at every person in flip flops. (Obviously, a huge pet peeve of mine.) Today 1,000 people could be wearing sandals and I wouldn't care though, because I am giddy with excitement- I'm going to New York for the weekend!  It's been forever since I spent an entire weekend in the city with friends, so this is going to feel like a much needed vacation.  Look out for fun Big Apple posts next week!

As for this week, here's what I was up to...

Felt like spring when I found anemones at the market, they are my favorite flower!
Crossed off "neon tote" from my Spring Wish List! Gap tote $49.95

Building a bike from scratch with the bf.  Post to follow next week!

It took me 1.5 hours last night to pack for NY.  Not including hemming this vintage skirt. (Packing gives me anxiety)

I daydreamed about surfing a lot this week.  That's me ^ learning on a SUP board last summer (we have a GoPro camera)!

Have a great weekend! (I know I will!)

Weekly Wrap Up

Phew, what a week! I can hardly believe April is on Monday, I am so ready for spring to get here (whenever it decides to show up).  It seems that at the end of every month I find myself thinking, "Whoa, where did that month go?!".  I must be having fun, because time is flying!

Lots of blogs have weekly or monthly ritual posts, and I have a few up my sleeve as well.  One of my favorite blogs, Love Taza, does a sporadic "Life Lately, According to my iPhone Pictures".  It is a brilliant way to wrap-up what's-up, and keep a timely memory for herself as well.  Friday is a popular time for these wrap-ups, and while I don't usually follow the crowd, this time I will.

So here's what I've been up to this week. Welcome to my first Weekly Wrap Up (because who doesn't want to stare at pictures from their desk on a Friday afternoon).

My big sister came to visit this weekend. We spent Saturday at the Museum of Science!
As an avid DIYer, my sister always brings handmade gifts!  She found these glitter vases on my Pinterest (she figured, correctly, that I hadn't gotten around to making any yet).
I'm a sucker for anything with a heart on it. Especially this adorable top from LIT, in the North End.
Vintage skirts purchased from Garment District. I don't usually like patterns, so when I fall in love, I buy!
Terrible, but inspirational, doodles!  Logo soon to come for Love and Milkshakes!

It has been an inspiring week and I'm thrilled to close out March with a smile (and maybe a few cocktails). Happy Weekend!
